- The USS Neil A. Armstrong II and the USS Eugene A. Cernan come back from their expedition to the remote Long Earths with the 'Napoleons' in custody, precipitating the crisis for the Next.[68]
- The USS Neil A. Armstrong II and the USS Eugene A. Cernan take position next to Happy Landings and are ready to nuke the town.[68]
- A Month after the return of the USS Neil A. Armstrong II and the USS Eugene A. Cernan from Happy Landings, Lobsang and Agnes visit the town and Lobsang destroys it with an asteroid.[69]
- November: Lobsang fakes his death.[3]

- A catastrophic winter on Datum Earth, possibly caused by the collapse of the Gulf Stream, causing a wave of emigration away from it and into the Long Earth.[70]

- The Invitation is received by the humans and other sapient species of the Long Earth.[79] The traversers disappear from the Long Earth and travel to Cosmos North 3,[80][81] while the Next begin construction on The Thinker.
- Joshua Valienté goes to Earth West 1,520,875 to take his last sabbatical.[82] He is injured and becomes stranded, but is saved by Sancho and his band of trolls.[83]
