Thor was one of the two gliders used by Sally Linsay, Willis Linsay and Frank Wood when they explored the long Mars, the other being Woden.[1] They were described as light and fragile looking.

Thor is described as having long wings (fifty or sixty feet), longer than the entire fuselage and a slender hull with lot of room for food, water, surface exploration gear, inflatable domes for shelter, tools and emergency pressure bubbles.[2]

The glider was named after Thor, the God of thunder in Norse mythology, who is also the son of Odin (also known as Woden in Old English).
