Robert Valienté (born between 1852 and 1861) was the son of Luis Valienté, an ancestor of Maria Valienté and Joshua Valienté and was raised in Richmond.[1]

Robert and his sister Elspeth didn't show any signs at being Waltzers.

When he reached her age of majority, his father took him aside and told him everything about his past and his abilities so Robert would be prepared if, in the future, his own children would display certain 'talents'.[2]

After Luis scruffle with the British government in 1871, he changed his name to 'John Smith' and advised his children to do the same but Robert refused, saying he was proud of his origins, and kept the name.

Robert left the family nest to took up engineering, for which he showed an unusual aptitude, and got married later in his life.
