Richmond West 10 served as a mustering points for treks heading for stepwise editions of the US, in the early years after Step Day. This included the Green family and the party that founded Reboot.

In 2026, it had a bare earth street in a grid pattern of houses built of heavy logs, clapboard and lumps of sod. On the main street were buildings with hand-painted signs - churches, banks, inns (including the Prairie Marble Inn), hotels, and stores offering food, clothing or other essentials. There were American and some Confederacy flags on poles or rooftops. Most people in the town wore worn-looking "frontier" gear.[1]

There was only one bookstore in Richmond West 10, which was run by Humphrey Llewellyn III.[2]
